Young fans in the stands, and players on the field, didn't question Monday the cost of refurbishing the Canada Games Stadium.

"I like it. It doesn't have a scoreboard, so you have to pay very close attention," said Ethan Higgins Watson, 9, watching the University of New Brunswick in Saint John Seawolves' home opener against the Holland College Hurricanes.

"It's good. I like it but, same as him (Ethan), it needs a scoreboard," said Ryan Hanson, also 9.

Jared Ross, another nine-year-old agreed, describing the renewed stadium as "good" just as the game announcer stated, "Touchdown, for the Seawolves."

The local team beat the visitors 37-7 in the first game on the new field in front of 1,700 fans.
