Message to students, faculty and staff

From: Eddy Campbell, President

April 19, 2010

It is with great sadness that I write to inform the UNB community of the untimely death of one of our students, Ahmed Alshamrani.

Ahmed, who is from Ras Tanurah, Saudi Arabia, died suddenly this past Saturday. He was in his second year of study with the department of chemical engineering.

Counseling services are available for students by calling 453-4820. Faculty and staff can access counseling services by calling 1-866-347-2067.

Flags in front of Sir Howard Douglas Hall and the Ward Chipman Library are flying at half mast today in honour of Ahmed.

I am sure that you will join me in offering heartfelt condolences to Ahmed’s family and close friends. He will be deeply missed by many.
