It's been a rewarding summer for the Marketing team! UNB recently won a gold award from the Internationalist Awards for Innovation in Media and a Prix d'Excellence gold award for "Best Use of Multimedia" from the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) for our #OnlyHere campaign. Guerilla marketing

Both awards recognized UNB for a guerilla marketing tactic that brought high-energy teams to the streets of Toronto, equipped with #OnlyHere-branded viewfinders that made it possible for high school students to take 3D virtual tours of our Fredericton and Saint John campuses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbB-jlC2tlA Our street teams interacted with 12,500 prospective students and family members throughout the campaign. Using a custom link printed on the goggles, we found that 62 percent of all traffic to our virtual tour website that weekend came from OUF, and those users spent more than twice as much time on the site as the average visitor. We also had an 88 percent increase in attendance at the UNB booth at the Ontario-based Student Life Expo a few weeks later. Of course, we couldn't do this alone. Our partnership with the Student Recruitment team and support and feedback from the UNB community has been invaluable. We're so excited to share plans for year two of our #OnlyHere campaign in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! Sarah Sarah Martell is Director of Marketing in UNB's Marketing Office.Â
