Change is the theme of the month as we melt into the month of July after a long and hot Canada day weekend!

July marks the beginning of new directions, however different they may be, for two long-time members of the Grad School team in Dr. Bruce MacDonald and Dr. John Kershaw.

Bruce will be hanging up his whiteboard markers and erasers to join the list of retired Faculty members from the University of New Brunswick's Saint John campus and John will be transitioning into an exciting new role with the office of the Vice President Academic, where he will take on the role of the new Assistant Vice President Academic (Partnerships).

As two members of our team embark on their new journeys, we are excited to welcome two well known faces in both the Fredericton and Saint John university communities.

Dr. James Kieffer, Professor of Biology at UNBSJ, will join the SGSSJ team as Associate Dean effective July 01, 2018. Jim has had an active teaching and research career at UNB that has included extensive experience in graduate supervision. He has also had considerable administrative experience as Department Chair and as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Science and Applied Science and Engineering, as well as Acting Associate Dean of Graduate Studies.

Joining the team in Fredericton as Acting Associate Dean is Dr. Kevin Englehart, Professor of Electrical Engineering. Kevin has similarly enjoyed a vigorous teaching and research career at UNB with extensive graduate supervision. He also has considerable experience integrating and administering research and graduate activities in his role as Director of the Institute for Biomedical Engineering (IBME) for several years.

We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Mary McKenna will be reappointed in her position as Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies with a focus on Interdisciplinary Studies.

Some new faces will also be popping up in Administrative offices campus wide as we move into the month of July, so be sure to take a look at our list of graduate Director's and support staff to see if any changes have occured in your area.
