Did you know the career opportunities, unique experiences, and places UNB GGE can lead you are truly endless? Did you ever imagine it could take you to one of the most famous volcanoes in the world? It certainly did for our alumnus, Peter Vajda!

Peter, a PhD graduate of 1995, has focused his career and field of study towards gravimetry. Recently, Peter has been applying this to volcano gravimetry. He is “processing and interpreting spatiotemporal micro-gravity changes observed in volcanic areas associated with volcanic unrest.” Peter shares “these studies help better understand the magmatic processes and mitigate hazards associated with eruptions or other impacts of unrest.”

Peter and his team's work on Mount Etna during a field campaign in summer 2018 was also covered also by the American Surveyor.
