David Innes named Acting Executive Director of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering

J. David Innes, P.Eng, MEng, FCSCE, FEIC has agreed to serve as acting executive director for the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) for a period of 6 months.
A two-time University of New Brunswick (UNB) civil engineering graduate, Mr. Innes graduated with his bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1969 and his master of engineering in 1971. His time at UNB didn’t stop there, only five years after his second graduation, he became a professor of civil engineering within the transportation group for over 25 years.
Mr. Innes was also the first president and CEO of the Fredericton International Airport Authority. He helped transition the organization as the ownership transitioned from the federal government. In 2014, he announced his retirement after 13 years in this role.
No stranger to the CSCE, Mr. Innes served on the Board of directors for 11 years and was the president for the 2003-2004 term. As acting executive director, he plans to conduct a full administrative review of the CSCE. Using the information collected in the review, Mr. Innes will develop a plan for the society’s future.
