About Us
Data NB is the online publication featuring the latest news, research, and analysis from UNB's New Brunswick Institute for Data, Research, and Training (NB-IRDT) and the Statistics Canada Research Data Centre in New Brunswick. We also feature news, research and data from our partner organizations, universities, and researchers.
About the NB-IRDT
The NB-IRDT is New Brunswick's data repository and secure research platform for the province's administrative and health data. We are headquartered on the Fredericton campus of the University of New Brunswick, with secure satellite research offices at Univerite de Moncton and UNB-Saint John.
At NB-IRDT, we:
- provide researchers with access to pseudonymized personal level administrative data in a secure, controlled environment, while ensuring that New Brunswickers’ privacy is protected
- conduct research on policy topics to support effective government decision-making
- expand and support data stewardship and preservation in New Brunswick
- develop research capacity through training
- are an integral part of the research infrastructure for the province of New Brunswick
